Remember ...."neatness counts" As you may know it has surge protection as well for RJ-11 (telephone) RJ-45 (Ethernet) and coaxial (75 ohm multimedia cable) I am currently only using the Ethernet jacks..BUT as one other reviewer mentioned, I had to hunt and search as the Ethernet jacks 'were nowhere to be found'. I nearly called Amazon for an RMA. Well after sitting on the floor pondering this and cussing a little too I somewhat reluctantly tried peeling away a 'warning label' of some sort and 'Lo and Behold" were the 2 Ethernet jacks. I saw the warning label earlier and did not attempt to remove it. After all it was there as a 'warning' so I may benefit from seeing it another time. How silly to hide the Ethernet jacks beneath a warnming label that, like me, many folks would not ever consider removing. Belkin should have had the warning label ALSO declare that the Ethernet jacks were hiding beneath. How proposterously silly and ridiculous to obfuscate them beneath a very valid warning label without declaring thier whereabouts beneath. Frankly ladies and gentelmen, it pissed me off. Not the searching as I did find them, but the use of a warning label to hide them. The label could have easily been edited to say "The Ethernet jacks are underneath". Anyway my other complaint is that this add-on surge protector advertises Ethernet / Telephone / Coaxial surge protection and rightly so..BUT it fails to include an input jumper cable of each type so one can actually use it right out of the box. I realize the product literature does not say one way or the other if input cables are included. Many other devices that are an ADD-ON to existing systems DO INCLUDE the required cables so one can actually ADD-ON the accessory. I had to go to the store and purchase an Ethernet cable....this is MY FAULT for not investigating more thoroughly pre-sale but live and learn. I agree with all the other reviews about number of outlets provided and spacing for wall warts etc..so no further remarks on that needed. I would still recommend this unit 100% with the foreknowledge one will need to beg borrow or buy input cables beforehand in order to actually use this product right out of the box for RJ-11, RJ-45, and Coaxial protection. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...

I have used other belkin surge protectors in my office and have been satisfied with them. This was a factor in deciding to purchase this one. I really like the surge protector's number of outlets and the order they are arranged. However I believe the manufacturer could improve the mounting holes it has on the bottom for mounting the device on the wall. This is a bit challenging under a desk. I would like to see the mounting holes moved farther apart or extended to where they protrude on the ends and one could just screw it to the wall. At the very least the manufacturer could provide a sheet with the mounting hole pattern for placement. The product has worked very well. The small power transformers that I have plugged in have not become disconnected or fallen out with the protector wall mounted. I would choose this product again.

You can have a higher joule rating but if it takes more than 10 nano second (one hundred millionth of a second) for it to respond, it won't provide much protection to your electronics. I see response time rating for lower priced surge protectors on their web site, and from that one may "conclude" that this higher priced item should be equal or better. From the warranty (though pretty much useless) of $300K for connected devices stated for this product, one could assume it has a faster response time than 10 nano seconds. I wrote to Belkin's customer service, and they themselves couldn't find the data for response time for this product. If a company cannot state specifications for its own products, it tells a lot about that company. I also searched the web and couldn't find this info. If anyone could find this spec anywhere, please respond to this review with that info. If response time is indeed good, then the other specs make this a compelling product to buy.

If you on a site where your ears need serious protection, you are probably on a site where safety is a big issue. Audible distractions are bad enough for a driver (as NHTSA and others are now saying). On a construction site or around a jet engine, the distraction of music or talk radio could get you killed. My guess is most safety-conscious sites would ban something like this (except in New York City, where Mayor Bloomberg enjoys seeing construction workers killed).

    • >> Decent...But Not Great - I work in the lawn care industry and have owned several of the worktunes units. I have owned two of these particular units and, although I am not impressed with them, I think they are decent for the money. The first one of these I got last year, and it developed a short in the wiring after using it about 4 months. I have had the one I am currently using for about 6 months, and so far, so good. I realize I am fairly rough on them in my line of work. Overall quality is decent. FM reception is good for the most part. I also like the mp3 jack. I enjoy listening to my mp3 player sometimes while mowing. The main problem is that the AM is almost useless. I do enjoy talk radio, and much of the time you can't get AM reception decent enough to hear anything. Maybe if I am out mowing in a large field and the wind is blowing just right I can listen in. So, if you want to use it for FM and mp3 music, it's not a bad deal if you can get it under $50. If you want to listen to AM radio, save your money!

The sound dampening is very good and the unit is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I expected the radio to be a poor performer based on other reviews, but found it to be decent for a shop environment. A stand alone radio that I have been using has much poorer reception than this unit. The nice thing is that you can actually hear the radio easily when operating large equipment (the shop radio was drowned out). What really surprised me was the speed which Amazon delivered the product. It arrived the day after shipping confirmation; that's great.

I installed this in a 1980s era American Standard Plebe toilet. I also bought the MJSI HydraClean Fill Valve at the same time because it was recommended for toilet tanks with the old ballcock which may interfere with the installation of the converter. My ballcock did not interfere with the installation so I didn't install the fill valve. I may install it in the future if my old fill valve dies, or I just get the ambition to mess with the toilet plumbing. I will be buying two more Dual Flush converters for my other 2 AS Plebe toilets,
    • >> Simple, quick, and easy way to save water - I have now replaced all of the flappers on all three toilets in my house with these. I ordered one to make sure that the dual flush mechanism would actually work and flush everything on the single flush. It worked perfectly on the first toilet on and I ordered 2 more. The mechanism to attach the device is a simply cable tie. It comes with one already attached. I did have to cut off the one that came installed on the unit and use the spare that was included to get this to slide down over the fill tube. Not really an issue, but you might want to remember it when you install. And, the size of the fill tube was not an issue. One of the toilets in the house had a very large fill tube. I was able to use a bigger cable tie and it works perfectly. I had the correct type of water supply in all of my toilets. As others have mentioned, check to make sure you have the correct fill type in your toilet. The units are very adjustable for both the single and full flush. It does take a few minutes to get all of that adjusted correctly. I have gotten my first water bill since I've installed them. With these converters only installed for half of the billing cycle, my daily water usage went down 15 gallons a day for a 2 person household. I'm assuming that this will go up to 20 or more gallons a day when it covers the whole billing cycle. I am really pleased with the results and would recommend that anyone who wants to save water, without replacing your toilets, this is a great option.

I do have a few comments. First, the unit was relatively easy to install; however, I do believe that the installation instructions could have been more thorough. The unit does only take a short time to initially install but that does not include the protracted time required to make the fine adjustments to make the unit flush correctly. Product website and amazon specs page fail to mention that this product is only going to reduce your gpf if you have an VERY old toilet or one that uses more than 1.6 gpf. If you do have a 1.6 gpf toilet, it will use exactly the same amount of water for the #1 flush; however, the #2 flush actually uses more water than your regular flapper in your 1.6 gpf toilet. So, all in all, its a great concept that would work great for anyone with an older model toilet. The installation was extremely easy and the qaulity of the product materials were great. It seems like it would last forever and needs no maintenece. Overall great product!

Also not everyone is good at math and formulas it would be helpful if they offered a small cheat sheet for people to use to help them get started on the math of KWH and how we are all bileed for our electricity.

    • >> Good product, good price, is exactly what I needed - The product was exactly what I needed. Purchased three of the same to lift bikes out of the way. Better price then local stores. I have 12' ceilings in my garage and so these get the bike's completely out of the way. After measuring and finding stud's, I determined the best mounting would be to put a 1 x 4 against the ceiling sheet rock. This made it very easy to measure and attach the lift system to the board on the ground first, then I mounted the board the the ceiling. I'm guessing it took me about 30 minutes to do the first one and then about 15 minutes each for the others. The long cord worked out great for me, I didn't need to trim anything. The pulley system isn't a fast lifting system. I take my time lifting it up and down but it requires little effort. It's clean, easy to use and the right price. Well worth it.

Previously I had purchased a Racor, and I thought I was buying the same bike mount when I bought the RAD. The main important difference is the hooks. The RAD's hooks are "L" shaped; they're not "J" shaped like those in the illustration advertising the product. The RAD's hooks are also rivited onto the pully assemble and the tension cannot be adjusted. The rubber coating on the RAD's hooks is also short; it only comes up about 1/2" after the turn. If you're looking for a bike mount, the Racor is also cheaply made, but it's certainly better than the RAD for only a couple of dollars more.

Will help keep things hot or cold. If used for an emergency, should protect one from the cold, however keep in mind these are only designed to reflect heat, basically reflect radient heat. You also would need some sort of insulation such as a regular blanket on top of this for total protection. Its a good product, well worth the cost, and if its all you have in an emergency, would certainly be helpful.

    • >> CO Monitoring In Garage - I was going to use a forced air kerosene heater to warmup the garage for winter car restoration projects. The Kidde Alarm along with simple thermometer first allowed me to take CO level & temperature data to get a good sense of safe operating limits on cold days. After 2 hrs, CO levels rose to the 50 to 70ppm levels after a 25 to 50F warmup...wise time to shutdown! Also was able to check on any potential CO bleed into the attached house (none)as well as CO decay rate when heater turned off & temperature drops. All in all it worked very well & measurements one day to the next were reproducible/consistant. The only shortcoming not mentioned in Amazon ad, but well covered in Kidde brochure was the 30ppm minimum reading level inherent with the unit. I would have paid 10 to 20% more for unit that goes 10ppm or less.....but probably not realistic availability. Also used to spot check oil furnace & wood burning fireplace....all zeros. All in all it worked great & I just leave in furnace room when not actually heating garage.

    • >> Manufacture Date - Had to replace my old Kidde KN-COPP-B Front Load that expired exactly 5 years after the manufacture date. I ended up buying three from Amazon because at the time they offered an amazing unbeatable deal and no other sellers could match the price. I've noticed a few complaints about the manufacture date on recently purchased alarms. Of the three I purchased in Dec 2009, one had a manufacture date of Feb 2009 and the other two were manufactured in March 2009. Even the the batteries included with each alarm had a Feb 2009 date stamped on them with a 2015 expiration date. Hope that squashes any concerns future purchasers might have. Oh yeah, this is a great battery operated carbon monoxide detector with a digital display and loud alert.
